PURPOSE:To obtain a product with high sensitivity by making grooves and cuts in mgagnetic material blocks and bonding the blocks with a nonmagnetic material, laminating a metallic magnetic layer and a protecting layer through a nonmagnetic spacer inbetween, and connecting two core half bodies obtained by polishing and cutting said blocks together. CONSTITUTION:A groove 2 for a coil, plural track grooves 3, and slanting surfaces 1A2 and 1B2 are formed in and on two magnetic magnetial blocks 1A and 1B, which are jointed together with a nonmagnetic bonding material 4 to form a block half body. Side surfaces of the blocks 1A and 1B close to the groove 2 are cut partially and polished into specular surfaces. The spacer 5 made of a nonmagnetic material is vapor-deposited on the block 1B to a gap length. Further, the metallic layer 6 and protecting layer 7 which have high saturated magnetic flux density and high magnetic permeability are laminated over the entire gap surface. The top surface of the block 1B is polished in an arcuate shape 1B4 and the blocks are cut to a specific thickness X to obtain a core half body H. Two half bodies H after wound with the coil in a window 2A are made to abut on each other to form a magnetic head. Consequently, the product with high sensitivity is manufactured. |
