The invention concerns a lockable stopping device for tank nozzle, in particular for motor vehicles. The device according to the invention is characterised in that it comprises a stopper 6 pivoting about an axis 7 orthogonal to the axis of the tank nozzle 1 and pulled back elastically towards a seat 9 occupying the periphery of the said nozzle 1, and a latch 12 which can occupy a locking position in which it cooperates with the said stopper 6 in order to lock it against its seat 9 and an unlocking position in which it does not interfere with the said stopper 6.
