<p>PURPOSE:To manufacture easily a matrix cathode, by utilizing a member of an end cap type oxide cathode, forming a recessed part on the outside surface part of the end cap, and providing a matrix emitter layer on this recessed part. CONSTITUTION:A recessed part 10 is formed on the outside surface of an end cap by use of a press base 6 and a press punch 6' for forming a recessed part on an oxide cathode base body which is mass-produced, namely, the end cap outside surface. Thereafter, this recessed part 10 is packed with a matrix use pulverulent body (mixed pulverulent body of Ni powder and oxide powder), and also a prescribed press work is executed, and a matrix cathode having a good characteristic is obtained.</p> |
