<p>The invention relates to a cutter shield for driving underground structures, in particular underground roadways and the like having a non-circular, in particular horseshoe-shaped, profile, with the use of a selective-cut heading machine of known construction. In order to cut the gusset-like parts at the two side walls, which cannot be cut by the selective-cut heading machine without greater overlap, the driving cutters located in the area of these gussets are constructed as activated cutters which are provided with percussion mechanisms and driven loosening tools. These cutters are preferably split, the front cutter part being in each case displaceably connected to the rear cutter part via a feed cylinder.</p> |
