In unit furniture for self-assembly, which can be dismantled, the visible edges are rounded off. The surfaces of the furniture are frequently provided with a film which creates folds in the corner region during application. The corner connection according to the invention consists essentially of a vertical attachment end which can be inserted into the internal space of the column which supports the furniture piece, a flange strip which is provided with through-holes for retention and attachment of a board, a centre piece which is located in a recess in the board, and a screen which covers the corner recess of the board horizontally and vertically. During production of the recess in the corner region of the board, the film which is provided with folds is also detected so that, during application of the film, unavoidable formation of folds can be ignored. The method for producing the board is termed the post-forming method, in the relevant branch of industry. <IMAGE>
