A process for the preparation of doped heterocyclic polymers, in which sulphur-free heteroaromatic compounds are reacted with arsenic pentafluoride, optionally in the gas phase or in an inert organic solvent, at temperatures of from -20 DEG C to +80 DEG C (or the boiling point of the solvent), and the doped heterocyclic polymers obtained by this process.
