PURPOSE:To obtain the subject easily producible tape material having excellent mechanical properties and suitable for water-absorbing tape material, water- running cable, etc., by laminating a water-absorbing fiber web with a spun-bond non-woven fabric of a heat-weldable fiber and pressing and bonding the laminate under heating. CONSTITUTION:The objective tape material can be produced by producing a web 1 from a highly water-absorbing fiber such as acrylic fiber and bonding the web to a spun-bond non-woven fabric 2 of a fiber containing a heat-weldable component (e.g., an olefinic spun-bond non-woven fabric having two-component structure) by thermo-compression bonding, e.g., by passing the laminate through a hot roll. |
