PURPOSE:To produce the large-sized and thin curved tiles with common metallic molds by supporting the tile base which is previously molded to a flat plate shape or properly curved shape by a heat resistant supporting means, and calcining the base, changing the degree of curving of the tile base during the calcination, then cooling the tile base. CONSTITUTION:The following constitution is adopted in the process of producing the curved tile by changing the degree of curving of the tile base during the calcination, then cooling the tile. The tile base 1 previously molded to the flat plate or properly curved shape is supported by the heat resistant supporting means (supporting pars 3a, 4a) and is heated in this state up to the base softening temp. The non-supporing part 1c which is not supported by the means 2 is softened and deformed toward a space 5 for base deflection formed to the means 2 and is kept heated until the desired curving is attained. The curved and calcined body 6 having the curvature rho1 is obtd. by the above-mentioned method and the curved tile 7 having the curvature rho2 is obtd. by cooling said body. |
