PURPOSE:To obtain a safety device against overloading which is simple in construction and is easy to handle, by providing an oil chamber in a slide and supplying compressed air of a required pressure in the oil chamber. CONSTITUTION:When a connecting bar 3 depresses a slide 4 and pressing is accomplished during the operation of a press, the oil pressure in a pressure chamber 17 increases. When the press is overloaded, the airtightness on a rail surface 22 is broken, and a piston 19 descends, allowing the oil in the chamber 17 to flow into an oil chamber 11. Then the pressure in the chamber 17 decreases momentarily and acts as a safety device. When the slide 4 is moved upward, the oil is admitted into the chamber 17 by the pressure of the compressed air supplied into an oil chamber 11 to force a ball cup 14 up to the upper limit, whereby the press is reset to the operatable state. |
