A device for loading and unloading is comprised of two superposed conveyors, consisting of helical endless belts arranged in a vertical frame (10). One (20) of the conveyors is fixed while the other (40) is arranged in a cage (30) rotatingly movable about the vertical axis of the helical conveyor. The rotatingly movable cage is fixed to a telescope section (111) of the cylindrical rod (110) supporting the frame. Thus, the upper end (44) of the conveyor (40) may be brought in place above or under the lower end (25) of the conveyor (20) by a corresponding rotation of the cage (30).
