A liquid cooled cathode ray tube, e.g. a colour projection tube, includes a cathode ray tube envelope (1) with a planar front panel (1a) coated with a phosphor screen (7), a metal heat radiator and spacer (10) surrounding the planar front panel (1a), a planar transparent panel (11) supported by the metal heat radiator (10), a spaced distance from the planar front panel (1a), sealant (13) sealing the heat raditor (10) to the planar front panel (1a) and the planar transparent panel (11) to form a closed sealed liquid retaining chamber (12), and transparent coolant (13%) filling the sealed liquid retaining chamber (12), the heat radiator (10) having a fin (10e) extending inwardly from the inner wall thereof. <IMAGE> |
