A magnetic generator for ignition systems of internal-combustion engines is proposed, which ensures a contact-free ignition system, and additional loads, in a simple and cost-effective manner by utilising the magnetic energy in the rotating pole wheel as well as possible. In the case of this magnetic generator (10), the permanent magnets (12) of the pole wheel (11) which follow one another in the circumferential direction have equal pole widths (B), with the exception of two adjacent permanent magnets (12a, 12b). One of the two adjacent permanent magnets (12a, 12b) has a larger pole width and the other a smaller pole width and, in addition, the two pole shoes (18a, 18b) of the ignition armature (14) have a different pole shoe width. The ignition armature (14) is arranged inside the pole wheel (11) in a very small space. The remaining space in the pole wheel is used for the arrangement of further windings. The magnetic generator can be used cost-effectively for internal-combustion engines having additional electrical loads, to be precise both in the case of stationary machines and in the case of motor vehicles or other apparatuses having internal-combustion engines. <IMAGE>
