The invention relates to the process technology for manufacturing construction materials. The process for manufacturing concrete slabs is characterised by the compression of a prepared plastic mixture, which is in the stage of forming a coagulating structure, under processing conditions which permit the removal of the excess moisture whilst intensively pressing it through the mixture. The equipment for carrying out the process according to the invention contains a mixture preparing unit (1) for preparing a plastic mixture (15), which is then transported by a conveyor (2) to a shaping assembly (9) of the press (4). A slide block (6) is mounted on the frame (5) of the press (4), to which slide block is attached a press ram (7), which is enclosed by a frame (8). The frame (8) is connected with the slide block (6) by means of a displacing mechanism (10) for displacing the frame (8) with respect to the press ram (7). The displacing mechanism (10) effects a non-positive connection of the shaping assembly (9) with a bedplate (12) mounted on the frame (5). This bedplate (12) has a filter element (13) mounted on its surface, which is connected to a collection and draining means for excess moisture and comes into contact with the belt (14) of the conveyor (2). The present invention can be used in various branches of the construction industry for manufacturing concrete products, preferably concrete slabs based on Portland cement, pozzolan cement, hemihydrate gypsum and mixed binders. <IMAGE>
