PURPOSE:To set automatically an absence mode, saving an already recorded message, by constituting so that a tape is rewound to the tape top, and thereafter, the end mark is detected by making the tape run, when service interruption is released. CONSTITUTION:If service interruption occurs in a state that a power supply is turned on to an automatic answering telephone device, the head stops at one position of positions indicated with arrows in the figures A-D. In this state, when service interruption is released and the power supply is turned on again to the device, first of all, whether the device is in an absence mode or not is discriminated. In case of the absence mode, a tape is rewound to a point (a) of the tape top from a point Nx. In the course of this rewinding, the number of times of rotation of a reel is counted and a value of Nx is derived. Subsequently, when the tape reaches the point (a), it is stopped temporarily. Subsequently, the value of Nx is stored. The tape is fed quickly to the point Nx, and thereafter, is stopped temporarily. Subsequently, it is fed quickly from a point N1 or the point Nx except the point N1, and whether the end mark exists between them or not is checked. |
