The invention relates to a process for the weighing of goods, especially of piece goods, such as fruit or the like, undergoing normal distribution, with a weighing device which has a measuring cell, for example a weighing cell or pressure-measuring device, possessing a reference platform, and a weighing platform receiving the weight of the goods to be weighed. To carry out a quick and accurate weighing, a fluid cushion, for example air cushion, and/or a magnetic field and/or another force field is generated between the weighing platform and reference platform during the weighing operation and the weighing platform is thereby maintained at a contactless distance from the reference platform. An apparatus for carrying out the process is characterised, in particular, in that the weighing platform of the weighing device is held contactlessly above the reference platform in a stationary manner by the fluid cushion and/or magnetic field and/or other force field or is formed by the bottom of a transport pan which receives the goods to be weighed and which can be transported contactlessly over the reference platform by means of the fluid cushion and/or magnetic field and/or other force field.
