<p>PURPOSE:To provide the titled ink composition containing a specified nonionic surfactant, ethylene glycol, etc. which has high penetrating power, quick drying property and good ejectability through nozzles and produces high-quality prints. CONSTITUTION:The ink composition contains (A) a few wt% nonionic surfactant of formula I (where R1 is 5-12C alkyl; R2 is 1-12C alkyl; n is 3-20), e.g. a compd. of formula II, (B) about 5-90wt% one or more of ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol and triethylene glycol, (C) 0.2-15wt% water-soluble dye, (D) additives such as preservative, mildewproofing agent or pH buffering agent and (F) water. The ink composition is suitable for ink jet recording in which an ink is ejected by abrupt decrease in the internal volume of an ink chamber.</p> |
