PURPOSE:To eliminate the consciousness of presence or absence of a special character and to facilitate an operation of an electronic device, by providing a means for inhibiting the indication of the special character information when a retrieving key word is registered. CONSTITUTION:An output obtained with operation of a key input device 1 is fed to a total control part 9 with input ontrol 5. The part 9 displays the output to a display 2 via a display controlling part 6. A part of characters of registered character strings is designated with a push of a key REGIST of the device 1 in order to register a key word which is used for retrieving a registered character string. An input controlling part 5 supplies a flag KREGSW showing registration of the retrieving key word to a gate G1 via an inverter INV and decides whether an output MODESW of the device 1 is passed through the part 5 from the gate G1. Then the pass is inhibited for the special character information. In such a way, a register operation is facilitated for a key word. |
