PURPOSE:To form an injector tube to short size, by arranging a booster, which receives fuel from a fuel injection pump and delivers high pressure fuel, as an integral unit with a fuel injection valve. CONSTITUTION:A booster 22 is formed such that a cylinder 34 is arranged in a cylindrical part 23a integrally formed with a body part 23 of a fuel injection valve 21 and a piston 37 is slidably arranged in the cylinder 34. The cylinder 34 comprises a major contour part 34a and a minor contour part 34b, while the piston 37 has a major contour part 37a and a minor contour part 37b, and a difference between their pressure receiving areas forms a low pressure chamber 38 and a high pressure chamber 39 to be partitioned in both sides of the piston 37. Pressurized fuel by a low pressure supply fuel pump 12 is charged in the high pressure chamber 39, and high pressure fuel is forcibly fed into the low pressure chamber 38 from a fuel injection pump 14, then fuel in the chamber 39 is compressed. As a check valve 44 is closed, the high pressure fuel flows in a passage 30, and a fuel injection is performed at a prescribed pressure. |
