A procedure and device for collecting material units, e.g. elongated objects, from a conveyor belt (1) and depositing the objects in a collector unit (4) as well as from the collector unit to an outgoing conveyor (7). The device comprises one picker or two alternating pickers with an extendable/retractable receiver bridge (16) and is designed to be pivoted between an upward receiver position, where a receiver bridge (16) if formed and runs outward/upward from the incoming conveyor (1), and the downward pivoted horizontal depositing position, where the collected material bundles (11) are deposited in the receiver unit (4). The device contains an additional one or preferably two alternating elevators with elevator bridges (24), on which material bundles (11) are collected into a package (5). Once fully collected, the package (31) is lowered and deposited to the outgoing conveyor while the temporarily inactive elevator is already at the correct level (25b) for receiving material bundles (11).<IMAGE> |
