PURPOSE:To prevent the outer race from damage or wear, by angles of contact between the ball and the ball rolling groove in the outer race, depending upon the position whether it is the center of the ball rolling groove or the front or the rear of the center. CONSTITUTION:Angles of contact theta1-theta3 between the ball 2 and the ball rolling groove 3 in the outer race 1 are adapted so that both the angles of contact at the front and at the rear of the center of the ball rolling groove 3 are smaller than that in the center, and therefore the ellipse of contact between the ball 2 and the ball rolling groove 3 is kept from going outside the groove 3. Accordingly, the ball 2 does not ride on the shoulder portion of the ball rolling groove 3, and the outer race 1 is prevented from damage. The equall-speed ball joint with durability has thus become obtainable. |
