PURPOSE:To appropriately switch the sound output between the ordinary telecasting and television text broadcasting and always output either of the two sounds from the loudspeaker, etc., of a television receiver. CONSTITUTION:Character signals overlapped upon television signals are separated from the television signals at a sampling circuit 4 and temporarily stored in a buffer memory 5. Signals of a program selected by a program selecting device 10 out of the content stored in the buffer memory 5 are data processed by a CPU6, and the character pattern, color data, and sound data of the signals are transferred through a bus line 9 to a pattern memory 7, color memory 8, and sound memory 21, respectively. On the other hand, the sound data of the sound memory 21 are introduced to a sound decoding circuit 22 and sounds are combined there based on the sound data. The combined sound drives a loudspeaker 23 after it is amplified by a sound outputting circuit 20 through a sound switching circuit 19. |
