<p>The gearbox consists of a central input gear (7) in mesh with three planet gears (13) which are equi-spaced and rotate freely on a carrier attached to the output shaft (12). The planet gears engage with the outer gear ring (18). The outer gear ring (18) has a series of external equi-spaced radial blocks (19a,19b,19c) dowelled and screwed to it, which interlock with trapezoidal blocks (22) fixed similarly to the internal face of the casing (5). Spherical rubber shock absorbers (23) are interposed between the blocks (19,20). These may be precompressed as in (19b) and (19c) or free from precompression as in (19a).</p> |
