PURPOSE:To enable indication of a scale different in the waveform display color and adjustable in the pitch and the width by employing a cathode ray tube having a fluorescent surface combining more than one types of phosphors different in the decay time and the emission color. CONSTITUTION:When polarized waveforms 22 and 26 and brightness modulation voltages 23 and 24 are applied in the direction X of a cathode ray tube in which a B38 phosphor layer and a B16 phosphor layer are laminated on the inner surface of a face panel and polarized waveforms 31 and 35 and brightness modulation voltages 32 and 33 in the direction Y thereof, the scale is displayed in the color of pinkish purple combining orange in the light emitted from a long decay component B38 phosphor and bluish purple in the light emitted from the short decay component B16 phosphor. On the other hand, when the signal waveform is indicated displaying the scale, the waveform by single sweep in the chop mode is displayed in bluish purple of the short decay component. This enables the indication of the scale with a better contract without use of a special construction and a light source inside and outside the face plate. |
