PURPOSE:To prevent generation of gap between a brake pad and a sheet, which is to suppress squeaking in the brake, and also to prevent separation of this sheet, by making the brake pad and the sheet as in a single piece by means of fitting fixation using bosses and detent holes. CONSTITUTION:A brake pad 6 is composed of a backing strip 24 and a friction material 25, which are fixed by adhesives etc. A sheet 22 of steel or rubber-coated steel designed to prevent squeaking in the brake is provided with detent holes 22a. The backing strip 24 is equipped with bosses 27 having a little larger diameter than those of detent holes 22a. These bosses 27 shall be fitted in the detent holes 22a, and the interference in this fitting will serve for secure fixation of the sheet 22 to the backing strip 24 of the brake pad 6. Thus a brake pad and sheet can be consolidated as in a single piece. |
