PURPOSE:To enable the control of the concn. of the plasma to act on fibrous products higher in the central part than in the peripheral part in the stage of subjecting the fibrous products, etc. to a low temp. plasma treatment, by forming the earth electrode in a treatment chamber to a bow shape. CONSTITUTION:A fibrous product 2 such as a woven, knitted or non-woven fabric, a cord or the like is supplied continuously into a reaction chamber 1, and air, oxygen or other gas is supplied into the chamber from a gas nozzle 9. A high frequency voltage is impressed between a high frequency generating electrode 7 and an earth electrode 8 to remove the dirt, shives and specks stuck on the fabric 2 and to apply a hydrophilicity imparting treatment thereon. The electrode 8 in this case is constituted of many bow-shaped electrode rods 83 which are turned simultaneously by driving of a pulse motor 86, thereby regulating the distance between the electrode 7 and the central part of the electrode 8. The plasma density in the central part of the fabric 2 is controlled higher than in the peripheral part by such regulation, whereby the entire part of the fabric 2 is subjected uniformly to the low temp. plasma treatment. |
