Sorting and assembly installation for case sides or panels of boards or similar parts

The boards of various width fed on a driven roller table (1) of the installation are measured in length and width by a so-called measuring station with computer (6) and are accordingly programmed for the further working sequence. Depending on requirements, these boards are conveyed transversely, fed either by the transfer unit (2) directly for panel forming (case side) or by the transfer unit (4) to a so-called supply paternoster (5). Boards of unsuitable length are sorted out laterally or at the end. In the supply paternoster, in each case boards of the same width are collected in the respective units of the receiving forks (5.1) and, depending on requirements, are fed in accordance with the width of the case side predetermined by the computer in coordination with the direct loading (2) to panel forming (case side) (3). Once the predetermined panel width has been obtained, trimming is effected by the trimming installation (7) after width pressing and clamping (7.1). Narrow scraps resulting in the process are discharged onto a belt (7.2) for removal. After the further transport of the panel or case side up to the stops (8.1), the individual boards can be nailed or joined in another way with conventional machines (9).
