PURPOSE:To improve the preservability and S/N of a photosensitive material by forming a photosensitive layer contg. silver halide, a reducing agent, a polymerizable compd., and a specified silver triazene compd., and forming thus a photosensitive material for heat development. CONSTITUTION:A silver triazene compd. expressed by the formula is used as a precursor of a polymn. initiator. In the formula, Ar is an aryl group or heterocyclic group; R is an alkyl group, cycloalkyl group, aralkyl group, aryl group, or heterocyclic group; L is a ligand; (n) is zero or 1. Trimethylolpropane, etc., is used as the polymerizable compd. The polymerizable compd. is dispersed in the form of microcapsule of oil drops in a photosensitive layer, and a photosensitive material is formed by allowing silver halide, a reducing agent, a silver triazene compd., and a color picture image forming material to be contained in the oil drops. As described above, since a thermally stable silver triazene compd. is used, the preservability of the photosensitive material is improved, and satisfactory S/N with high maximum density and low minimum density is obtd.
