PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of a photosensitive material and prolong the service life thereof by installing a current control means which controls electric supply from a current supply means to an emission element during exposure by turning the current on or off on the basis of printing data. CONSTITUTION:A controller drives a main motor by sending a main motor control signal to an engine controller (ST1). Exposure is judged whether it is based on printing data within a printing range or it is for leveling the surface potential of a photosensitive material drum other than printing (ST2). When the exposure is judged to be outside printing range, switching is conducted to a current source by moving the movable contact point of a switch (ST3), and emission to the photosensitive material drum is conducted with a switching element turned on (ST4). A printing process (pre-exposure, printing, post- exposure) by exposure is judged whether it is finished or not (ST5). If the process is judged to be not yet finished, the process returns to ST2, and if judged to be finished, the main motor is stopped to finish the exposure control action. |
