PURPOSE:To prevent wrong seating, by using the ascent of a valve seat to change the volume of a pressure chamber defined by a check valve and the inside of the bottom of a casing, when load has acted to a lift rod and by allowing the rod to descend by a length corresponding to the change in the volume. CONSTITUTION:When load has acted to a lift rod 21, it smoothly descends until the top 27a of a valve seat 27 comes into touch with the contact surface 26a of the lift rod along with the ascent of the valve seat. When further load has acted to the lift rod 21 after the contact of the valve seat 27 with the surface 26a of the lift rod 21, the pressure of a pressure chamber 34 rises. The lift rod 21 does not descend except by the volume of oil which has leaked along the sliding surfaces of the lift rod and a casing 20. When the lift rod 21 has stopped descending, it receives the load in full. This constitution prevents an intake or exhaust valve from being wrongly seated. |
