PURPOSE:To obtain the titled device capable of cutting the protruded part of a member having a continuous length mechanically from a predetermined position by a method wherein a cutting blade is swingably attached so that it is separated from the protruded part of the member of continuous length at the upper dead point of the running thereof and is moved to approach the covered part of the member of continuous length as it is moved for running. CONSTITUTION:The member of continuous length M is fixed to and supported by a cradle 2 so as to face the protruded part S upwardly and a swinging plate 5 connected to a ram 6 located at the upper dead point is retreated and swung by the notch 8a of a guide plate 8. A pressing roller 3 and the cutting blade 4 are separated from the member M of continuous length. When a driving cylinder 9 is operated to run and move the ram 6, the plate 5 is swung into a straight line under being guides by the guide plate 8. The roller 3 presses the side surface of the member M, the blade 4 cuts into the protruded part S and the protruded part S is cut along a given length by the horizontal movement of the blade 4.
