PURPOSE:To obtain a welding device which is capable of holding satisfactorily a welding state, by providing a means which detects a variation of arc voltage, converts it to a wire heating power control signal, and controls a wire heating current (voltage) in accordance with its signal. CONSTITUTION:In an arc welding device of a hot wire system, arc voltage of an arc ignited between an electrode 12 and a base metal 14 is detected by an arc voltage detector 50. This arc voltage is inputted to a function generator 52, and its output is inputted to a comparator 44. The comparator 44 compare and operates an output of the function generator 52, in addition to an output of a wire voltage detector 48 and an output of a function generator 42, and operates a control signal applied to an output regulator 46. By this control signal, a wire heating current or wire heating voltage of wire heating 22 of a wire heating power feeding means is controlled to an optimum value. By this welding device, even if arc length is varied, optimum wire impressed voltage can be maintained at all times, and a uniform welding bead is obtained. |
