PURPOSE:To obtain a focusing setting device which detects a focusing state with high precision and setting a photographic or image forming lens system at a focusing position on the basis of the detection result, by photodetecting light reflected by an object by a photodetecting means which is provided at a position conjugate to an image formation surface and has an optical opening part or non-sensitive part. CONSTITUTION:An optical system housed in a camera adapter 5 is arranged so that the position of the surface of a film 22 in a camaera 6 is conjugate to that of a photoelectric element 15A'. A focusing detector which detects whether a photographic lens is in focus or not is used; when the lens is in focus, the lens 8 is moved to the in-focus position and once it reaches the in-focus position, an in- focus pilot lamp 19 turns on. The device is so constituted that its light is reflected by a focusing mirror 9 and further reflected by a return mirror 21 at a rear position on an optical axis 7 in the camera 6 and said light can be seen by an observer through a pentagonal prism 23 and a finder lens 24. |
