PURPOSE:To reduce vibration noise of a stepping motor by composing a stator housing and end brackets of magnetic materials and securing a permanent magnet which is axially magnetized in contact with one end face of a rotor having pole teeth, thereby shortening the length of the entire motor. CONSTITUTION:A stator housing 2 which contains a stator core 1 and end brackets 4 are composed of magnetic materials, one end face of a permanent megnet 9 which is axially magnetized is secured in contact with one end face of a pole piece 7 of a rotor having a plurality of pole teeth 7-1-7-5, and the other end face of the magnet 9 is opposed to the end brackets 4 through air gaps. When the prescribed current is flowed through stator coils 3-1-3-4 wound on the stator poles 1-1-1-4 of the core 1, the rotor 1 is rotated in the prescribed direction. In this manner, the entire length of a motor can be shortened, and a braking operation is actuated by an eddy current generated at the bracket 4. |
