PURPOSE:To enhance flexibility in the arrangment of a combination of machine tools each capable of independent operation and provided with a table capable of automatic positioning, automatic pallet transferring apparatus, automatic exchanging apparatus, and distribution stations, in which a pallet is adapted to be transferred from one unit to another. CONSTITUTION:A table 8' of a machine tool 8 is positioned at a predetermined pallet transferring position, and a pallet 10 on a distribution station 1 is received by an automatic pallet transferring apparatus 3 and transferred therefrom to the table 8'. The pallet 10 is fixed to the table 8' by means of a clamp 6 and subjected to predetermined machining by the machine tool 8. After the completion of the machining, the pallet is transferred by means of an automatic transferring apparatus 4 to a table 9' of a machine tool 9 for the next process, where the pallet is clamped and subjected to machining. After the machining, the pallet is transferred by means of an automatic transferring apparatus 5 to a pallet distribution station 2. By this construction, the flexibility can be enhanced and production rationalized. |
