PURPOSE:To transmit both the sound PCM signal and the data signal of another terminal with share of a PCM transmission line, by inserting the information bit of other terminals to the bits at compartively rear parts of each octet. CONSTITUTION:The information bit D of another terminal is transmitted after inserted to the bit at the end part of each of octets E1-E12, e.g., to the 8th bit at the end part of an sound PCM code of the octet E3. A multiplex separating device 8 performs the insertion and extraction of the bit D to the PCM code train on the basis of a format shown in the diagram. At the data transmitter side, the bit D of another terminal given from a signal converter 4 is inserted to the 8th bit of each octets E1-E12 of the sound PCM code train delivered from an sound PCM coder/decoder 2. Then the signals are divided into sounc PCM codes EB1-B7 and the bit D at the receiver side. In such a way, both the sound PCM signal and the data signal of another terminal can be simultaneously transmitted through the same PCM transmission line 5. |
