PURPOSE:To provide a variable relation between the diameters of shafts and uniform cooling by a method wherein the steam pipe or liquid pipe of either one of both main shafts having a hollow chamber and a radiater with work liquid enclosed therein between a bearing and a bearing block communicated together by both a steam pipe and a liquid pipe, is connected to the radiater on the other main shaft by a flexible pipe. CONSTITUTION:When a bearing block 4 shows a higher increased temperature than that of another block 41, the work liquid in a hollow chamber 7 at the block 4 shows a higher amount of steam, steam pressure and temperature than those of the other block in case of evaporation of the work liquid, so that a higher evaporation latent heat is taken to perform more cooling and the temperature of the block 4 is prevented from being increased more than that of the other bock. Then, the hot steam evaporated in the hollow chamber 7 moves to a radiater 81 through a steam pipe 10, the liquid condensed there shows a higher temperature than that of liquid in the radiater 8, flows to the hollow chamber 71 through a pipe 121, so that the temperature of the block 41 is increased and a difference in increased temperatures between both bearing blocks is restricted low. A span can be made variable in a range of expansion and contraction of flexible pipes 10a, 101a and 13a. |
