PURPOSE:To record lots of track without overlapping from both sides on a tape, by recording the tracks with a servo track as a reference, in recording the tracks on the tape from the reverse side, for example. CONSTITUTION:Switches 22-25 are selected to the position R at the recording, a servo head 18 and a head amplifier 8 are connected and a servo head 19 is also connected to a head amplifier 9. When the servo track in the opposite side of the tape is already recorded in this state, a servo track detecting signal is given from the head amplifier 8 to a servo track detecting circuit 26 to connect an amplifier 11 to an actuator 4. Further, the output difference of the head amplifiers 8, 9 is amplified to move the actuator 4 up and down by referencing the servo track already recorded, and the track is recorded on a prescribed position of the tape from the opposite side. In this way, lots of tracks are recorded from both sides without overlapping on the tape. |
