The invention relates to a rear light for vehicles, in particular for motor vehicles, having lights which are arranged in a common housing and emit light of different colours, in particular having reverse lights and fog lights arranged in a common housing. A satisfactory separation of colours and an adequately large light emission area is to be achieved according to the invention by means of a swivellable colour filter which can be swivelled automatically between the light source (incandescent lamp) and a colourless cover plate of the rear light when a lamp emitting a coloured light is switched on and can be swivelled back into a non-effective position of rest when a lamp emitting a white light is switched on.
