Said mobile collection trough has trough sides and storage levers, which are inclined slightly downwards from the feed side towards the opposite trough wall. The trough wall opposite the feed side is inclined obliquely inwards and merges into a trough base with concave curvature. The free ends of the storage levers together with the trough wall facing them form a passage gap for the rod profiles. For loading, the collection trough can be moved into a transfer grating having grating sides parallel to the trough sides and moved out in stages during loading. The grating sides have outlet flanks and adjoining, steeply downward sloping slide flanks, which together with the facing trough wall form a wedge-shaped gap towards the trough depth and the trough width, which gap opens or widens as the collection trough moves out of the transfer grating during loading with successive clearance of the internal space of the trough. In this manner it is achieved that the rod profiles roll individually one after the other to the base of the collection trough and silently build up on one another to form a bundle without falling. <IMAGE>
