A microsampling device having an element which is immersed into a sample liquid has as such a needle (3) having at least one transverse bore (5) of low cross section for sample collection. The cross section of the opening, which is constructed as a transverse bore which is open at both ends, is small compared with the length of the transverse bore at least at one point which is opposite to at least one end opening at one end of the transverse bore. A drive for the needle, which also exerts a stirring effect, is included. For this purpose, a method is also provided for taking and delivering microsamples by rotating the needle while samples are being taken and delivered. <IMAGE>
