An arrangement for removing particulate solid material from a pressurised chamber (2) with a funnel-shaped collection chamber (10) for the material (16) includes a pipe (18) whose one end extends into the collection chamber (10) whilst the other (26) is outside it. An operable shut-off device (20) is included in the pipe line. A level sensing probe (24) in the collection chamber gives a signal to a motor-driven actuator (22) for the shut-off device (20) when the level of material approaches the inner end of the pipe.
