PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the material in a weld zone on account of oxidation and nitriding of Ti in said zone, by inserting a Ti pipe into the hole of a Ti pipe plate, expanding the Ti pipe and removing the air in the contact part of both then subjecting both pipes to gas shielded welding. CONSTITUTION:A Ti pipe 2a is first expanded 9 and the air 6 between the inside surface of the hole of a Ti pipe plate 1a of an active metal and the outside surface of the pipe 2a is expelled thoroughly in the stage of inserting the pipe 2a into the hole of the plate 1a and welding the same. The plate and the tube are then arc welded 5 by using a shielding gas 4 whereby the plate 1a and the pipe 2a are stuck without the presence of any pinhole owing to air and without deterioration of the material in the weld zone 7a on account of the oxidation, nitriding, etc. thereof. |
