PURPOSE:To improve the communicating efficiency, by performing the communication between a terminal and a terminal controller in the procedure of transmission of a data request signal from the terminal controller and then response of the corresponding terminal, and providing a bit representing the presence of data in a response signal. CONSTITUTION:The data request signal (a) is transmitted from the terminal controller 1 to the terminal 2(x). When a control circuit 22 of the terminal 2(x) receives the signal, a prescribed response signal is stored in a shift register 13. When the storage is finished, the response signal is transmitted with a start signal (e). The terminal controller 1 detects 13 the start bit, then detects 17 the presence of data, and when no data exists as the result of detection, the receiving is finished at the point of time, the procedure to the next terminal is proceeded, and only when the data exist, the receiving procedure of data from the terminal is continued. |
