PURPOSE:To form a saddle-type cone from a thin plate, also to omit its post- working, and to reduce its manufacturing cost, by fixing both ends of a cylindrical material to a pair of split mandrels, of which one is fixed and the other moves in the axial direction, pressing them in the axial direction, and executing cylindrical squeeze-spinning. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical material 15 whose length is l+DELTAl is prepared by winding a plate provided with a flange hole (d) on both sides and coupling it by welding W. Subsequently, both ends of the cylindrical material 15 are fixed to the outside end parts of split mandrels 8A, 8B, respectively. Subsequently, cylindrical squeeze-spinning is executed by a forming roll 12 supported by a holder 13, applying pressure P in the axial direction, onto the split mandrel 8B through a tail spindle 11. In this case, the split mandrel 8B moves while it is guided by a pin 16 fitted to the other fixed split mandrel 8A and a desired saddle-type cone 2 is formed. |
