PURPOSE:To reduce the number of cavities produced in a squirrel-cage rotor by arranging inlets to fill molten conductor material substantially uniformly in a circumferential direction so that the integer magnification of the number becomes the number of slots. CONSTITUTION:Inlets 7 to fill molten conductor material are arranged at a core 2 so that the integer magnification of the number becomes the number of slots, e.g., when the number of the slots is 18, 3 inlets are approximately uniformly arranged in a circumferential direction. When the molten metal is filled form the inlets 7 to the core 2, the metal is introduced from the axial one end side of the core 2 through the respective slots 9 to the other end side, thereby forming an end shortcircuit ring which shortcircuits between conductors disposed in the slots 9 and the ends of the conductors at both ends of the core 2. In this case, the number of cavities formed in this manner becomes the number of the inlets 7 at the end shortcircuit ring. |
