The pressure transducer of simple construction has a circular, elastic diaphragm (6) which is held in a clamped position at the edges by flanges (3, 4) pressed against one another. The diaphragm (6) has low hysteresis, since the flanges (3, 4) have different inside diameters, and the flange (3) having the smaller inside diameter (d1) has on its inner edge a circular rib (5) arching the diaphragm (6) forward. <IMAGE>
