Novel sulphursuccinic acid diesters, their preparation, and a reactive surfactant composition containing them

A sulphursuccinic acid diester is described which has an allyl group or a methallyl group as radically polymerisable group and which can be represented by formulae (I and II) below: <IMAGE> The diester according to the invention allows emulsion polymerisation to be carried out under optimal conditions, by varying the balance between the hydrophillic characteristic and the oleophillic characteristic, depending on the monomer. A reactive surfactant composition containing the diester is also described.
