The invention relates to a sensor for detecting displacement differences of a sensor element due to the action of an external force. Such forces can be produced by physical quantities such as pressure or acceleration. It is provided to use a Hall generator which is fed by a constant-current source. It is located between the pole shoes of a magnet which form a gap which becomes continuously wider towards the side, and is there arranged relatively movably in the direction of the widening of the gap, that is to say in the direction of the field gradient. The Hall voltage produced across the Hall generator can be supplied as measurement signal to an evaluating device. <IMAGE>
