PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the photographic element which is a photographic material containing a novel blocked image control compound and obtains an appropriate color balance at the time of being subjected to intensification processing by incorporating a specified compound. SOLUTION: The photographic element is provided with a support and at least one photographic emulsion layer and a compound represented by the formula: R<1> -NH-(Q)m -C(R<2> )(R<3> )-(Time)n -PAM in which R<1> is an electron withdrawing group; Q is a group having a conjugated system; (m) is 0 or 1 and when it is 1, the -NH-Q-C(R<2> )(R<3> )- group is made a time control group or a communication group for causing a cleavage reaction through transfer of the conjugated system by electrons; the TIME is a time control group or a communicating group; (n) is 1, 2, or 3; PAM is a photographically active member; and each of R<2> and R<3> is, independently, an H atom or an alkyl or aryl group or the like.
