In a safety cap shoe of the roadway support system in mining and tunnelling for channel-section props which in each case support with their end plane a section which locks positively with a cap or a stringer and whose base has integrally formed torque supports which lock the prop, bearing with its profiled flanges against them, against rotation about an axis, the invention consists in the fact that the torque supports in pairs form a clamp which accommodates a prop profiled flange, and that several clamps are provided which are offset relative to one another by a quarter circle in the supporting plane.
